FARIDABAD: Police in Faridabad have arrested three of the four accused who allegedly robbed Vinod Jindal, 30-year-old shopping mall owner, on midnight of August 21.
According to the police, Jindal left SRS shopping mall for his home in Sector 14 on the night of August 21 in his Honda Accord car when he was ambushed by the accused. They allegedly bundled him into the car’s backseat at gunpoint and drove him to a secluded spot where they snatched his gold chain, wallet and mobile phone.
After robbing him, the accused threw Jindel out of his car and drove away.
The police said they have recovered the stolen car, the mobile phone and the gold chain from the accused.
All three accused have a history of crimes and had been to jail. The first of them, Mahesh (22) of Badrola village, has three criminal cases pending against him. The second accused, Mohit Kumar (22) of Manjhawali village, was involved in a gang war and is accused of having shot dead one Sandeep in the court complex of Gurgaon. 21-year-old Mahesh Kumar of Prahaladpur village is the third accused arrested by the crime branch. He was earlier arrested for keeping a country made pistol and was out on bail when he allegedly took part in looting Jindal. The three had become friends in the jail where were awaiting their trial.
Speaking to TOI, SSP Alok Mittal said the police is hunting for the fourth accused Ashok (22) of village Chakarpur in Gurgaon district. The three accused were produced in the local court which remanded them to police custody.
